After that it was gentle walking with spectacular Welsh gardens to enjoy.
Bright red lupins in many gardens.
I love this vegetable garden!
The photo of thissyeep terraced garden doesn’t do it justice, it was tended by an octogenarian smoking a pipe. Apparently he built the terrace from stones he salvaged from the nearby quarry.
Towards the end we walked through a nature reserve and Deb was in her element photographing wild flowers and butterflies.
Deb photographing butterflies.
Small pearl-bordered fritillary.
Rock rose
Common blue
Meadow with daisies.
Yes the path goes through here.
And Charles Darwin was here a few years ago.
Such an understated plaque.
I spent the late afternoon chilling watching life go by while Deb went back to the nature reserve to take more glorious pics. I’m a bit jealous of her camera phone, far superior to mine.
It was good old Indian food for dinner.
Tomorrow we are slackpacking because we have about 30k ahead of us, although there will be a long flat stretch along the tow path. Looking forward to it.
Sounds like fun. Maybe I should come over and walk a stretch with you both. Oh wait...I can't...I have to go see the Rolling Stones in Manchester. Damn!
